Soon, another week will conclude tomorrow. This week marks the first month of my presence in Airebus hotel asia, and certainly our reputation (since sc and my joined me) has been swept hard by a tattered broom. Chatting, banging, drinking, eating and screaming at the hotel lobby brought to the attention of the managers of hotel asia, who often complained about our unmannered behaviours. Unmannered? I thought it was boisterous.
So what if we eat in front of the guests? If the hotel wants ME to eat in its rest room, please then CLEAN UP the room. I am no squatter or vietnamese refugee. If the hotel cares about image, please make an overhaul to the staff's uniform because they looked like beggars. Especially the front office people; with unkempt moustache and old metal-framed spectacles that drooped nearly below the nostrils! How unsightly it can be.
And to the stupid toilet cleaner man! We are simply of incompatible astrological signs. When I am urgent and in need of toilet, you are in the progress of cleaning the toilet. When I stepped on your wet floor, you sarcastically said "Wah, your shoes are very dirty!" For goodness sake, I wouldn't have to wear a shoe if the public floors are clean. I controlled my mouth in not rebutting. Upon slamming my cubicle door hard, the man said: "Do not enter the next time when I am cleaning the toilet." No longer able to keep my mouth shut, I finally rebutted: "Of course I am urgent that's why I came in lah!"
The man quietened.
The once smiling front desk people are now conspiring at our back, so we begin the silent war. We will remain unwavered, and will work towards building a bad image for hotel asia in unison.
Yesterday's sales was low, and I am starting to feel guilty for our bad customer service. But somehow I questioned myself if I should care much for the company's sales because employee welfare was bad. I discussed this with mum before I slept, and told her how we would encourage customers to patronise other companies instead. "Even if your company treats you badly, you should perform your best! You risk building a bad reputation of yourself if one day your boss were to find out. After all, in the travel line, people know each other. And you will have hard time finding job," mum said.
Prior to leaving the counter, meiyin asked: "Have you seen my MP3?"
"Oh shit! It was in sc's bag!" I exclaimed.
"
Don't bluff lor, take it out."
In a haste, I called sc to mark my words, and handed over the phone to meiyin. Meiyin left in a huff, carrying the bag of rubbish with her and only lets it down near newton mrt station, where she dumped in hard onto the top of the rubbish bin, as if suffering from menopause. I knew the whole bag rolled down when I heard a "thomb" but I dared not look back for fear of embarrassment and having the need to pick it up.
She was heading to redhill, but she was standing at the side of the platform towards pasir ris. I broke the silence when I said: "You're in the wrong direction," trying hard not to reveal my giggle.
On the train home, she messaged me asking "Is my mp3 inside when I threw her (sc's) bag?"
"No, it was OUTside." I replied, knowing I lied lol!!!!! Saying "yes" will only make her panic; because this was her first mp3, especially meaningful since it was purchased in the presence of alton. It is most probably a gift from him.
Today's sales was a stark contrast compared to the day before. Reasons for the contrast:-
- our attitude has been better today (somewhat possible); and
- meiyin was not on duty (highly possible).
Muahahahahaha.
In the early afternoon, I made a trip to giordano in citylink mall to collect 500 bucks from kailing, our customer. While I kept marketing my company's product to her, meiyin kept discouraging her to purchase from us. In the end, after comparison with online rates, she made her mind to buy a boulevard hotel package from us.
I returned to see that nasi lemak would be catered to passengers today. I was astonished, and quickly ordered sc to call up our caterer to order extra 2 sets. Oh gosh, for the whole day I was waiting for them to come! But somehow the chilli aren't as salivating when compared to that of shafika's mum's recipe. It turned out to be a little salty. The rice was soggy. But what more can I ask for cheating on a meal on company's bill?
Happy Mother's Day.
