View from room (so ass noisy)

3 days just whizzed past as I had my off from work. So fast...

Wed 30 May 2007

Dad dropped us at Woodlands Checkpoint; from there we took Causeway Link into J.B. Had a slight jam, nevertheless still able to reach City Square 2 hours later at 8 plus. Had dinner at Vivo City Square; grandma had baked fish spaghetti, mum and I shared chicken chop and chicken baked rice.

Our coach left at 11.3opm for First World Hotel.

Thu 31 May 2007

Deposited our bags at the concierge after getting queue number for check-in. Big Breakfast and hotcakes to fill our empty stomach. Fucking expensive. Totalled about 52 MYR.

Went Starworld Casino while waiting to get our room. As usual, I was subjected to age verification on every single entry I made into the casino. Perhaps due to my height? Occasionally I was almost being rejected because I looked different from my passport photo. Anyway, there is a signboard displaying the current hotel check-in queue no. being called. Alone I went to check out the spa facilities at Genting Hotel and to the park.

Me in the park with my stupid braces

Got our room (no. 15772) at 11am; I claimed all our belongings from the concierge and carried them all the way to the room while they were still soaking in the casino. For a split second I thought I had become a butler. I had a bath, rested my eyes for a few minutes before meeting them for lunch at midday. Our 3 plates of mixed vegetables rice with drinks cost a shocking 46 MYR.

I hate FWH (if not for its price and location)

I had a good nap till 4pm before heading to the M Spa at Genting Hotel. Paid 45 MYR per usage for unlimited hours. Anyway I used from 4.30pm till 7pm. Fantastic! Had a good sweat despite me not having to run. Soaked in the spa pool (hot and cold), sat in the sauna and steam room. Then laid on the beach chair to watch HBO and MTV. It reminded me of Ritz Carlton KL. It was the first time I did such a relaxing activity in Genting Highlands. Now that I discovered it, will go again.

Stole 5 toothbrush sets from the spa! For my braces' sake, and save on the hassles of buying every so often. Also stole a towel back to room, because we got 3 people, yet room only got 2 towels. Asked housekeeping for extra towel, they said "No." No means no lah, I won't complain much because First World Hotel is a cheap hotel. Cheap in terms of price and decency. Lol.

Had dinner at Causeway Bay Restaurant; ala carte 3 dishes of sweet and sour fish slices, kai lan and omelette with prawns and rice. Had my "yuen yang cha." Totalled about 80 MYR.

While they returned to their playground, I went shopping.

Night

Had buffet breakfast at First World Cafe. Checked out from room at almost 12 noon. Took the skyway down (5.00 MYR each) and hopped onto the Genting Express to Sentral KL (3.80 MYR each) at 1.30pm.

Heading to Skyway station

At Sentral KL after alighting, we approached the Left Luggage counter to deposit our bags before heading for Suria KLCC for shopping by Putra LRT. Costs 21 MYR.

Mum and I each slurped a bowl of Penang assam laksa at Little Penang Restaurant. Grandma had her char kway teow. Both were fantastic.

Bought a scrapbook from Kinokuniya, a pair of Everlast and khakis from a shop called PDI. Later bought 4 roti johns'; first time I tried it; very nice. To think Roti John can't be found in Singapore anymore.

If only I got $$$$

Took some pictures of Petronas Twin Towers. It was much more spectacular when being illuminated at night.

Night (taken at taxi stand; didn't notice until seconds later)

A 20-minute taxi ride brought us back to Sentral KL where we had dinner at KFC, collected our bags and departed by KTM intercity train for Singapore at 10.45pm, after 45 minutes of delay.

Sat 02 Jun 2007
Reached Woodlands Checkpoint at 8am. Left for home by taxi from there.

And oh, I broke the handle of the window in my room while trying to close it. Too forceful and the window was too tight. Haha!

The broken handle (luckily not glass; if not I'd be unable to hide the flaw to escape compensation)
